Adam, a struggling plumber, loses his girlfriend Lisa after she discovers she's pregnant and refuses to live in poverty — she gets an abortion and breaks up with him. Devastated, Adam walks home distracted and is struck by a car driven by Sophie, the daughter of wealthy businessman Mr. Harrison. Sophie pays his hospital bills, introduces him to her father, who awards Adam $1M in contracts. Adam becomes wealthy, falls in love with Sophie, and they marry. When his ex Lisa sees the wedding on TV, she tracks him down — only to find Sophie, now pregnant, at the door. Adam, kind-hearted, forgives Lisa and gives her money to start a business, then closes the door on his past.
